This lovely home is in a quiet, mostly owner-occupied neighborhood, on an easement off a cul-de-sac. Green space is all around, from a tree grove on one side of the easement driveway to the large, peaceful retention pond on the other side. There is usually plenty of parking space adjacent to the pond. The street is a newer development with all new construction, so it's a great, well maintained, safe atmosphere.

Going east on Bakerview, the home is less than a ten-minute walk from El Tapatio food truck, and a minute's drive (around 15-20 minutes' walk) from McDonalds, coffee shops (Cruisin' Coffee, for 24-hour-a-day food and beverages, and Hot Shots), and other restaurants/cafes. Around the intersection of Bakerview and Hannegan there are lots of other amenities, from banks to indoor golf to motosports to a dance studio to art studios (like a photographer and Date and Paint), to various stores. The closest amenities to the house are a chiropractic facility, a place of worship, and a day care.

In the other direction on Bakerview, you're less than 2 miles from Bellingham's retail center. That means you're 2 or 3 minutes away from almost every store you can imagine, big-box to small-box — Barnes and Noble, the 24-hour Walgreens, Home Depot, and even Bellis Fair Mall are all right there! You're also really close to restaurants, grocery stores (Cost Cutter, Community Food Co-op), gyms (City Gym, Bellingham Athletic Club), bicycle paths, religious organizations, branches of pretty much every bank, the hospital (St. Joseph — less than 3 miles away), and more.
Going south on James St., you're about a mile from another major retail area, Sunset Square Shopping Centre, which features a grocery store, a home goods store, craft and office supply stores, health and beauty establishments, restaurants, and various other goods and services. Lowe's and a few fast-food joints are right across the street from there.

Students welcome! The home is less than five minutes from Whatcom Community College (WCC), and it's right on the bus line. In one direction (bus line 48) the bus goes directly to WCC, and in the other (bus line 49) it goes directly to the downtown bus depot, where it's easy to bus to Western Washington University (WWU), or anywhere else in town. The I-5 freeway is also close by, for quick trips across town, or for road trips to Vancouver or Seattle on the weekends.
